About the Nick Rizzo Academy
Nick Rizzo has spent 13 years playing professional football in England, Italy and Australia with Clubs including Liverpool FC, Crystal Palace FC, Wimbledon FC, Ternana and Perth Glory.
Nick Rizzo has represented Australia at all levels possible Under 17, Under 20, Olyroos and the Socceroo’s.
He is committed, dedicated and passionate about sharing his vast wealth of knowledge and experience as a professional footballer with young upcoming footballers.
The aim of the Nick Rizzo International Football Academy is to train and nurture young players that are keen and committed to improve on all aspects of their football skills and sportsmanship.
Specialised professional football programs shall be operated all year round, these programs shall enhance the development of young football players.
Young football players in Australia are exposed to exorbitant amount of competitive football with the emphasis on 'winning at all costs'. The NRIFA endeavours to emphasise the technical part of football for the players development. Technical training or ‘having a ball at your feet’ is the most important concept for the development of young football players.
Training sessions shall be intense and shall run for an hour and a half but importantly sessions will be enjoyable so that young players nurture the desire to continue to learn and develop their football skills.
The all important phrase in football ‘to want to come back’ is a fundamental aspect of a young player fulfilling his true potential. Enjoyment and the will to work hard are extremely crucial.
Nick Rizzo has developed numerous contacts in England and Italy through his 13 years as a professional footballer, therefore players expressing extreme talent and desire to become professional football players will have the possibility of trialling in Europe.
